OUR STORY

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

OUR NAME TELLS OUR STORY...

MOUNT PISGAH

This Biblical name points to the mountain upon which God took Moses to show him the Promised Land. Although we are located in the Sandhills with no mountains in sight, we seek to be a place where people can  know, live out, and enjoy God's promises.

BAPTIST

We come out of the early free church movement that believes in the "four" fragile freedoms":
BIBLE freedom - the unhindered access to God's word and the study and application of it.
SOUL freedom - the liberty of each individual to cultivate a personal relationship with God.
CHURCH freedom - the autonomy of each local body to carry out the teachings of Christ as they see fit.
RELIGIOUS freedom - the freedom of, from and for religion and the separation of church and state.

We choose to affiliate most closely with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, nationally and statewide, as well as work alongside other ministry partners deemed appropriate by the congregation.

CHURCH

We are the local expression of the body of Christ, gathered together for worship, teaching, fellowship, ministry and mission.
VISION Statement: Experiencing the love God gives...Engaging the world God loves
MISSION Statement: Being one family united by God's grace, we are committed to God's great commandment by living the faith we profess, sharing the hope of salvation, and loving all.

INCORPORATED

The Articles of Incorporation were filed April 22, 2008. As a result, these Bylaws replace the Constitution and By-Laws adopted April 24, 2022.

OF GRAY'S CREEK

All ministry is contextual, and our context is the community of Gray's Creek. Since our community is ever-changing, we seek to be bridge builders reaching out to our neighbors in love.
